TEMPERED GLASS
Tempered / toughened/heat treating glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal to increaseits strength compared with normal glass. t is about four times stronger than annealed glass. Bent temperedglass is a curved safety glass which has been heated to a temperature where it softens up so that it can bemolded into the desired shape. Heat Soak Test, or H$T is a process that may expose nickel sulfide inclusions intempered glass to minimize the risk of spontaneous breakages of heat-treated glass.
Tempered glass is produced by heating annealed glass in a furnace to 620C° Progressing from the furnace, the glass is rapidly cooled with jets of cold air, inducing compressive stresses to the surface while the center remains tensile. The result is fully tempered glass 4-5 times stronger than annealed glass of equal thickness.Considering the characteristics of tempered glass, glass size should be confirmed before making production. Once tempered glass size is confirmed, tempered glass can not be made mechanical treatment any more, otherwise, it will be broken. If breakage occurs the glass breaks up into small, cubical fragments, which are not threatening to humans.
